The Rock Creek Trail #4 is usually groomed on a weekly basis, depending on snow fall and snow conditions.

Grooming report I went up and groomed rock creek short and the bottom of rock creek long along the road. Snow bikes have been all over the rock creek long all the way down to forest service cabins along the road. The groomer smoothed a lot of it out but there still might be some holes here and there. Rock Creek short has track set as well as training and penstemon loops. Conditions are very hard and icy. Saturday Feb 22, 2025, Rick

I groomed the lodge and Penstemon loops and set track, snow was very hard and icy, used teeth to break up the ice. Groomed rock creek short, same conditions, very icy and hard used teeth to break up and set track. Also groomed the bottom of rock creek long. Went up 500rd all the way to elk basin meadow and groomed and set track all the way back to parking area due to heavy snowmobile use. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, Rick
Grooming update Hi all, went up and groomed this morning. Snow is very hard and compact. Set track on lodge and Penstemon loops. Groomed and set track on Rock Creek short. Groomed the bottom of Rock Creek long as there had been a lot of snowshoers over it. Groomed 500 rd. to cabins. Grooming update Good evening, I groomed and set track on lodge and penstemon loop. Groomed Rock Creek short and 500 rd to cabins. I was also able to machine pack all the way to deadline ridge and elk basin back to the lift. It was a little tricky as I had to shovel in some tree wells and hand shovel a side hill section close to the lift. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, Rick
Grooming update Went up today and packed and groomed rock creek short and 500 rd. to the cabins, didn’t set any track. Gary groomed the lodge and Penstemon, so I just set track on those 2. It was extremely busy up there today, when I left the parking lot was full. The snowshoers are really using rock creek short for some reason. 4-5 inches of new snow. Snowmobile is full of fuel. The clipboard is back up there so go ahead and fill it out if any of you go up. I won’t go back up probably until Friday. Friday, Jan. 3, 2025, Rick Since last week there has been a lot of snowmobiles up the 500 road. it is pretty well packed now. I was up there today and it has been warm enough that there’s a crust on the snow that has falling the last week. |

Grooming report I went up today and packed trail with the snowmobile. I was able to go up 500 rd to the cabins and did Rock Creek short loop. Snow is soft but I was able to pack without too much trouble, got kinda stuck 3 times on the short loop. I plan on going back up Friday and try and pull the groomer around and clean things up a bit.
