2024-2025 Trail Activities:
OCT. 9, 2023, Lawrence Flournoy, President, HDNA
Dear HDNA members,
Greetings from the HDNA Board! We hope that your summer was a success, and you got out and enjoyed the great outdoors despite the smoke.
Dave Duhaime is the HDNA trail Meister. Over the past summer Dave and several other HDNA members have been inspecting and working on the ski trails. They have addressed many issues such as removing downed logs and trimming back brush. However, due to the amount of mileage that HDNA maintains there are still some trails that need to be inspected and worked. We would like to hold a trail work day on Saturday October 19th. This would be a good opportunity to help do some trail maintenance and maybe explore a trail that you are interested in before the snow season starts.
We will meet at the Bureau of Land Management Office on Addison Ave E at 9:00 AM and then drive/carpool up to Magic Mountain lodge for a short safety talk and organizational planning session before heading out into the woods. In order to plan the day PLEASE call or Dave and RSVP before the 19th to discuss details regarding tools, interest, and other details. Please bring lunch, water, gloves, and proper footwear. Dave may have other suggestions for tools, but loppers or a small hand saw are a good choice.
We look forward to seeing you. If you have not been up to the south hills the colors are probably peaked. Some trees are already losing their leaves.
Best wishes,
